What is Threading?
The practice originates from Middle Eastern, Arabic and South Asian cultures. It is achieved by tying a cotton thread around the neck and creating a ‘shuttle’ that traps hair in its path! Sensitive skin can enjoy hair removal without experiencing severe redness, burns, blisters or breakouts! The work is much more precise which provides a cleaner, longer lasting result! Check out our Services page for details!
What does Threading feel like?
For most, it feels like a rubber band rubbing against the skin or no different than tweezing. If you have very low pain tolerance we offer application of an over the counter anesthetic to make your experience more comfortable.
What is the difference between Waxing vs. Threading?
Waxing removes sections of hair at a time, but it can also be less precise and more traumatic on the skin. The repetitive pulling is proven to loosen collagen and elasticity resulting in thinner skin over time. Threading traps rows of hair from the root with precision, while preserving the skin's integrity.
Is Threading safe?
Absolutely! It is an art of hair removal that has been practiced since ancient times! But there are some people, although rare, who are hyper-sensitive and may experience welts, redness, flare ups and small pustules around the threaded area. Proper after care is strongly advised to lessen these side effects.
What if I am hyper-sensitive? Can I still get threaded?
Its completely up to you as long as you are prepared for the possible side effects. If you wish to have the hair removed, you must be willing to follow after care instructions, should any side effects occur. Most hyper-sensitive individuals recover after 3-5 days.
What is the difference between Classic Makeup vs. A-List Makeup?
Classic Makeup is applied using Glo Minerals. It is best suited for those wanting a traditional makeup application not designed for fool proof or extensive wear. A-List makeup involves using tried and true industry products that are fit for makeup requiring fool proof wear that is fit for industry standards such as bridal, photography, performances, television and other media work or high profile functions.

Why do you favor Individual Lashes vs. Strip Lashes?
As pretty as strip lashes are, they don't have the best reputation for being comfortable, durable or natural looking. Strip lashes are known to lift at the inner and/or outer corners of the eye which can affect makeup quality. Individual lashes are highly preferred for makeup that will be worn for 12+ because they wear extremely well, feel comfortable and look natural! Some clients have claimed they can last up to a week which makes them an affordable alternative to lash extensions!
Does that mean you won't apply strip lashes at all?
We do offer strip lashes for in studio makeup applications but we don't carry them in our kits for On Location work.
What do On-Location Makeup services entail?
We pack our bags, products, kits, chairs and travel to you so you are 100% comfortable at the comfort of your own home or requested location! Depending on your location, a travel fee may apply for on site makeup services. SLS adds a 20% gratuity for in studio and on site bridal party bookings.
Wow this makeup isn't coming off! How do I remove it?
Cleansing oil, cold cream, or a good quality food grade oil such as coconut, grapeseed or olive work best for breaking down makeup. Foolproof makeup may need repeat oil cleanses. Once makeup is off, you can wash your face with your regular cleanser and follow your skin care routine as usual.
